Performance of Different Germplasm, Plant Extracts and Insecticides against Yellow Vein Mosaic of Okra (OYVMV) Under Field Conditions.

Yellow vein mosaic of okra is transmitted by whitefly (Bemisia tabaci Genn.). Present study was made to test the performance of different germplasm, plant extracts and insecticides against yellow vein mosaic of okra. High degree of resistance was observed in Arka Anamika, Panchali (Hybrid) and Parbhawa while, VRO-5, Varsha Uphar, JBS-4, VRO-5×AA, Pusa-A-4, F1 Hybrid Bhindi No.-32, Punjab-7 and Hisar Unnat showed resistant reaction. Barkha Bahar, VRO-6, JBS-10, VRO-3, JBS-2, 205-Hybrid, Arka Komal, VL-Bhindi-1, Pusa Makhmali and F1 Hybrid Bhindi No.-10 were found moderately resistant. All the chemicals used in the study reduced the intensity of yellow vein mosaic virus, significantly. Imidacloprid + carbofuran recorded minimum disease intensity of 1.94 percent at 60 DAS, followed by profenofos+carbofuran (3.61%), metasystox + carbofuran (4.72%) and imidacloprid (5.00%). In managing the disease with the plant products under field conditions, it was observed that neem oil + carbofuran recorded minimum disease intensity of 6.11 per cent at 60 DAS followed by neem oil (8.89%), guava leaf extract + carbofuran (9.72%) each and neem leaf extract + carbofuran (10.00%).
