In Algeria Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) was first reported in the South-western borders in 2011 and by February 2012, the disease has reached the central part of the country. Subsequently, the National Veterinary Authority proceeded for the first time with PPR vaccination in the affected area. Therefore, the efficiency of the commercial vaccines used was serologically evaluated during 18 months period using a commercial competitive ELISA. Eighty four (84) small ruminants’ (44 sheep and 40 goats) were enrolled into the study in a controlled and closed experimental farm. Serologically all the selected animals were tested PPR seronegative as inclusion criteria.
