Descending necrotizing mediastinitis is a rare and serious evolutionary complication of cervico-facial cellulitis. These are vital emergencies that are difficult to manage and are responsible for a heavy burden (30% and 40%). Their diagnosis is based on clinical and computed tomography that allows appreciating the extension of the mediastinal infection, to guide the therapeutic gesture. We report a case of odontogenic descending necrotizing mediastinitis with an adverse effect in order to emphasize the seriousness of this pathology and to encourage the implementation of a prevention policy at the national level.
