Immunology is a branch of biomedical science which deals with an organism’s response towards an invading environmental factor. This process involves a complex interplay of invading particle and defence system of the host organism along with successive cascading molecular mechanism to eliminate the invading agent. The revolution in computer science advanced the understanding of immunological events and pathways. “Immunome†is an emerging branch of Immunology where we can apply genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics applications to study genetic components of immune system. Clinical immunology is the branch of Immunology that deals with studies of diseases caused due to immune system disorders. Clinical Immunology falls into two categories Immunodeficiency and Autoimmunity. Immunodeficiency is a category in which adequate response is not provided by the immune system whereas in Autoimmunity the immune system attacks its own host body. Cellular immunology deals with activities of cells in experimental or clinical situations. It is the interactions among cells and molecules of the immune system that contribute to the recognition and elimination of pathogens. Molecular immunology deals with immune responses at cellular and molecular level. Molecular immunology has been evolved for better understanding of the sub-cellular immune responses for prevention and treatment of immune related disorders and immune deficient diseases.
