Changes in the Environmental Vulnerability of Oasean System (desert oasis), Pilot Study in Middle Draa Valley, Morocco
In the last thirty years, the oasean system has seen an important environmental disturbance. This change is caused by the human intervention and climate change. An integrated monitoring and a best oasean management require the identification and calculation of the indicators of change. In order to do this, we used the environmental vulnerability index to compare the change between the oasean environmental vulnerability in 2009 and 2014. A comparative analysis can help identify such environmental change. The results show a very small change in this period. The global score of environmental vulnerability was estimated to average 288 in 2009, and the corrected value is 270. However this value becomes 267 in 2014. On the one hand, the results also show an increase in the exposure to natural disasters and in the impact of desertification on land. And on the other hand an increase in damage and a decrease in hazards.
