Androgen-Dependent Chemical Elements of Prostate Gland

FTo clarify androgen-dependence of chemical element mass fractions in prostate gland, a quantitative measurement by five analytical methods was performed. The intact prostate glands of 50 subjects (European-Caucasian aged 0–30 years) was investigated by an energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF), an instrumental neutron activation analysis with high resolution spectrometry of short-lived radionuclides (INAA-SLR), an instrumental neutron activation analysis with high resolution spectrometry of long-lived radionuclides (INAA-LLR), an inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES), and an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS).
