Exophthalmia as a First Manifestation of Epitheliod Hemangioma

A 25-year-old man had a three-month history of a slowly progressive exophthalmos of the left eye, fluctuating swelling of the eyelids, and diplopia. We evaluated the exophthalmos using CT and MRI, and performed excisional biopsy and pathologic examination. Histopathological findings were compatible with a diagnosis of epithelioid hemangioma. The main differential diagnosis is Kimura disease but EH is not associated with systemic manifestation. Systemic steroid administration has been used with success. Regular follow up was performed and no evidence of recurrence was observed.
